I thought the product description was too good to be true, but I figured I would try it based on the good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it worked exactly as advertised! It easily broke the beads on 2 old 38 inch tractor tires with severely rusted rims due to leaking calcium. It also broke the beads on an old 36 inch tractor tire that had been on the rim for over 70 years! I highly recommend this product!

By Escadi
I purchased this tool for breaking the bead of an off-road 16" wheel and it works great! It replaced the unreliable and difficult "bead breaking" mechanism that I have in my manual tire changer and hasn't failed me.Do note:*If the bead hasn't broken after extending the tool very far, then you should remove, and place it at a different spot to generally loose up the seal the tire has with the rim, and thus, break the bead!*Make sure to wedge the tool as deep in between the tire and rim as possible so that you avoid simple moving the sidewall rather than the tire bead. The tool should be roughly perpendicular to the wheel as it reaches it's tighten point, then you can commence breaking the bead.*You may want to be a bit more careful if you're going to use this tool on rims (aluminum, chrome, etc.) other than steel wheels, as these will easily scratch them up. If anything, you could put some rubber coating (like Plasti Dip) on the rounded clamp, which fixes the tool on the rim, and that could possibly reduce the scratch.*One thing that I didn't like is the lack of detail the tool's instruction sheet gave because it just basically stated how to use it. It didn't say much about the tool itself such as what the purpose of certain random nuts serve. For example, I'd like to know this because as you use it, you're going to feel the shaft get pretty hot, so I don't know if it requires lubricant apply through one of the nuts to prevent wear.

By Trent Breland
the first time i used this it was on a large irrigation sprinkler tire The bead breaker was working good and almost had the bead pushed off the wheel. When the little curved arm that clamps it onto the wheel broke in half. And I was using a 10" crescent wrench without much effort. So its not like i over tightened something. Upon inspection of where it broke I could tell that it wasn't made out of steel, but some other metal that obviously isn't strong enough.
