A Bit Touchy, But Convenient

While letting the tires down for a trip across the sand, a fellow traveler demonstrated the Power Tank TrailHead Tire deflator. He screwed the deflators on his valve stems, stepped back and let the inflators work. In minutes, his tires were at the desired pressure while I was kneeling, deflating, checking, deflating, checking. Upon returning from the OBX, I ordered a set for one of our SUVs. I followed the instructions for setting and found that each of the TrailHead Tire Deflators had a "break-point" where the pressure setting would change very quickly vs. the input of the setscrew. Once I got the feel for the sensitivity of the setting, getting the deflators properly set was a snap. Adjusting takes some trial-and-error and the result is very reproducible pressure results.Follow the recommendation to adjust the deflators using a small tire. It would take quite awhile making the adjustments using a car tire.
